My thoughts about Concorde. (Post-retirement and its legacy)

45 years since it came to our world, Concorde was indeed a very special aircraft of its own class. Even after its retirement in 2003, many had admired this plane for so long. Over the last 27 years of its service, Concorde has captured the imagination of people from all over the world, an extraordinary feat of power, grace and beauty. And in the eyes of many, including myself requoting this famous quote: "she's brought Cities together, brought people closer together, and reminded us all that we can do extraordinary things."

And whenever Concorde showed up, there were always spectators waiting for her arrival, looking out for the "White Swan" with its long neck and trying to get as close as possible to her on departure to hear and feel the roar of the four Rolls Royce Olympus engines.

The fans and supporters were very patriotic about it, as Concorde was considered as the national symbol and a centerpiece for celebrations. She represented power, beauty, and the courage of the people who made the unimaginable into the achievable through patience and hard work. Everyone was supporting and cheering for Concorde as many installed parts were manufactured throughout the country.

Apart from all that, what do I think of Concorde from my perspective? 
Besides the fact that she is the most beautiful plane in the world, it makes me sad to know that she was long retired in 2003, and I was only four years old at that time. A little boy that know little to nothing about Concorde, and now looking back at it makes me realize how vast the era of aviation had changed since the Concorde retired. The Concorde's magnificence had inspired me to pursue my dream: to become a pilot in the future.

And lastly, I couldn't finish this blog about Concorde without sharing an inspiring tribute that I made for Concorde, a memento to the most iconic supersonic airliner in the world. I hope I was able to narrate and document everything about an airplane which made aviation history.

Concorde 102: From Humble Beginnings

The origins of Concorde started all the way to the early 1950s, when the director of the Royal Aircraft Establishment (RAE) "Arnold Hall" , asked Morien Morgan to form a committee to study the feasibility of the  supersonic transport (SST) concept. The group met for the first time in February 1954 and delivered their first report in April 1955. Their goal was to find and study the feasibility of supersonic flight to the commercial aviation industry. This was the early years of the jet age. In the late 50s, fighter jets were routinely seen flying supersonic, breaking new speed records. And the first aircraft to ever fly supersonic was Bell X-1 piloted by no other than Charles "Chuck" Yeager . And this took place on October 14, 1947. A historical moment in aviation history.
